Abimbola Agboluaje
Founder & Principal
Abimbola Agboluaje is a seasoned energy-sector governance strategist with over 14 years of experience advising investors on market risk and transaction readiness across West Africa. He has supported more than 150 energy-related deals, ranging from upstream acquisitions by established operators to equipment finance for service providers and pre-production capital for marginal field owners.
His core strength lies in translating investor risk perception into practical operational and governance strategies that make Nigerian firms credible in global capital markets. He has worked closely with companies to enhance regulatory compliance, form high-calibre boards, and build reputations that attract funding.
In 2022, he founded the License to Energy conference series to bring these issues to the fore. With Capitas Partners, he now leads a more focused effort, working with partners across London and West Africa to structure investment-worthy companies and introduce them to the world’s leading energy and infrastructure investors.

Ademola Henry Adigun
Senior Advisor, Oil and Gas Policy, Governance, and Finance
Ademola Henry Adigun is one of Nigeria’s most experienced oil and gas governance advisors. He was formerly the Team Leader of the Facility for Oil Sector Transformation (FOSTER), a major policy reform initiative funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom (FCDO, British High Commission).
Adigun brings deep knowledge of Nigeria’s upstream and downstream petroleum sectors and has worked extensively across regulatory reform, project finance, and transaction design. He co-authored a widely referenced guide on marginal field licensing, now used by Nigeria’s upstream regulatory commission. He has also advised on the financing and development of two marginal fields and supported the establishment of local refining initiatives.
A former banker, he previously worked at United Bank for Africa and First SMI, a finance company backed by a consortium of Nigerian banks. He has significant experience in structuring capital for small and medium-sized enterprises and played a key role in drafting Nigeria’s current fiscal policy for the oil and gas sector.
Adigun has served as a director in two Nigerian financial institutions where he also contributed to shaping credit frameworks and risk evaluation processes. He led Nigeria’s adoption of the Natural Resource Charter and was instrumental in designing the reforms that partially deregulated the downstream sector. He also co-authored the Gas-Based Industrialisation Report adopted by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Economic Management Team.
He has trained staff at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) on key elements of the Petroleum Industry Act, leadership, governance, expenditure, and revenue modelling, and cost optimisation. His expertise has been sought in executive workshops for leading firms including Aradel Holdings, Seplat Energy, and Chevron Nigeria.
Ademola is the Chief Executive of AHA Strategies Limited.
